CorgiRO Rules & Code of Conduct
Thank you for being part of CorgiRO!
In order to promote a positive gaming experience for everyone, we ask our players to conduct themselves appropriately when using our game client, forum, Discord server, and social media pages. The rules and standards listed below broadly define what behavior is expected as a member of the CorgiRO community. Although these rules and standards may not expressly cover all types of prohibited behavior,
we expect each player to follow the "spirit" of these rules by upholding our core values of honesty, respect, fairness, responsibility, and integrity.
Basically, when in doubt, don't do it (or ask a staff member)!
Membership in the CorgiRO community is a privilege and not a right. As such, you agree that our staff shall have full discretion to address any behavior they feel is inappropriate. Further, we reserve the right to (1) suspend access to our services at any time for reasons that include, but are not limited to, failure to abide by these rules; (2) evaluate incidents on a case-by-case basis and take action that may be more lenient or severe than lose listed here; and (3) change or modify these rules at our discretion without notice. Repeated and/or severe violations may result in being IP banned from one or more of our services.
The bottom line is that we want our community to be a fun, safe, and stress free environment for everyone. When interacting with others, you may encounter those with vastly different experiences and backgrounds. While certain language and images may not be personally offensive, please consider how the same content may have a completely different effect on someone else. Please direct any concerns or questions to a staff member in-game, via forums, or through our support ticket system. We’ve done everything we can to make this a great community – now it’s up to you!
Disclaimer: CorgiRO is only intended for audiences over the age of 13. Children under the age of 13 will not be allowed to register an account.

You are solely responsible for securing your accounts, characters, and items at all times. That means:
Choose a strong, secure password that only you can access - refrain from sharing your usernames and/or passwords with other players.
If you decide to share your account with anyone, you accept full responsibility for their actions and any resulting punishments that may be incurred.
Never provide your username, password, financial information, or items to anyone claiming to be a staff member. We will never ask for your private information except during the Support Ticket process.
Do not ask another player to transfer items or zeny for you.
If you purchase an in-game account from another player (using in-game currency, since RMT is not allowed), verify that purchased accounts/characters are correct. Immediately change the password and the registered e-mail address of purchased accounts on the main CorgiRO website.
Triple check names, items, and amounts when trading, NPCing, upgrading, vending and/or mailing. Make sure to screenshot every trade or transaction with another player.
We advise against lending items to anyone, but if you do, weigh the risk and consider the consequences of losing the item. If you lend items, have the other player say that he/she is just borrowing the items, and make sure it shows in the screenshot. Remember that item theft is most commonly committed by friends and guild members.
Report item loss immediately through the Support Ticket System. If you do not make a report within 24 hours, we may not be able to help you in some cases. In general, the longer it has been since the incident occurred, the longer it may take for us to help you.
Cheating, Exploitation, Hacking
Cheats, exploits, and hacks are strictly prohibited and may result in an immediate ban from CorgiRO. These include:
Taking any actions that compromise the stability and/or integrity of CorgiRO's servers, websites, game clients, forums, external advertisements, social media, and/or other content.
Modifying CorgiRO game/server/client files in any way that provides an unfair advantage. Some GRF and graphics edits are permitted (i.e., GRFs that solely reduce skill effects so that your local machine isn't lagged) - please contact a staff member if you have questions or are in doubt.
Using anything other than the current official CorgiRO client to connect to the game server.
Using certain third-party programs that automate game play (including bots, but not AIs).
Exploiting bugs or mechanics that result in the gain of large quantities of zeny, items, or other rewards, or otherwise disrupts the server and/or community.
We do not allow the advertisement of any external content, games (including other RO servers), events, or anything else not affiliated with CorgiRO.
Additional rules govern behavior on our forum. The following conduct is prohibited:
Multiple forum accounts. Players are permitted only one.
Revival of old topics.
Making non-constructive and/or multiple posts designed to bump, derail, or disrupt the thread topic.
Multiple posting without reason.
Abuse of the "Report to Moderator" button by sending false alarms or nonsensical messages.
Use of rapid, flashing imagery designed to trigger epilepsy and other disorders.
Creating duplicate threads.
Signatures larger that 190px on 1024x768 resolution.
The following actions are considered fraudulent and may be subject to extreme repercussions even for first time offenses (such as a permanent ban on one or more accounts depending on the severity of the offense):
Impersonating and/or pretending affiliation to another player, group, or staff member.
Issuing a charge-back for donation credit.
Attempting to obtain personal and financial information and/or virtual goods for any reason without the owner's express, written authorization.
Attempting to bypass IP restrictions for instances, activities, or bans.
Attempting to to deceive staff with false information.
Do not threaten, embarrass, cause distress, or give unwanted attention to others. Prohibited behavior may include:
Personal insults against players, current or past staff members, or any groups of people.
Slurs, discrimination, symbols, or promotion of hatred against race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or religion.
Threats of real life violence in any capacity.
Explicit sexual or pornographic content.
Repeated aggravating or disturbing behavior toward a player or staff member.
Invasion of privacy. Do not share any personally identifiable information or real life photos/videos of other players or staff members. It is punishable whether or not the info/images are accurately attributed.
Starting rumors or publicly making assumptions about a player or staff member's identity, whether that identity is another online persona or a real life name.
If you are being harassed, do not escalate the situation. Instead, please take the following steps to prevent further harassment and also document the event with screenshots:
Tell them to stop. If they do not stop, take screenshots or report their forum posts, and go to the next step.
Stop responding to them, and block or ignore them. If they persist and find other ways to harass you, take screenshots and/or report posts, and go to the next step.
Leave the area where the person is harassing you. In-game, move to another map or change characters for a while. On forums, move on to other threads for a while. On Discord, chat in other channels for a while. If the person follows you and continues to harass you, take screenshots and/or report posts, and submit a report via support ticket.
Even if you do not end up going through all three steps, but you have had to take some of these steps in multiple instances over a period of time, you may still report the incidents and we will use our judgement based on the situation.
Nuisancy is defined as any action that disturbs or interferes with the community at large. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Chat and skill spam.
Malicious interference with an event.
Any activity relating to looting or kill stealing.
Any activity with the intention to MPK (Monster Player Kill: Using monsters to kill a character).
Any activity related to spawning monsters in towns, the first level of dungeons, or special maps used in quests.
We recommend using the Bloody Branch Rooms for branch-breaking parties.
Any activity related to warping a player without permission.
Setting up a Vending/Buying Shop or a Chat Room in the streets of Prontera and Alberta. "Streets" are generally defined by tiles of a different color/pattern and a clear edge separating them from "sidewalks".
Blocking any NPC with a Vending/Buying Shop or a Chat Room. This can occur when you are less than 4 spaces away from the NPC.
Real Money Trading ("RMT")
Players are prohibited from trading accounts, characters, items or currencies in exchange for (1) real money; (2) accounts, characters, items, or currencies from another game server (inter-server); and/or (3) any and all other goods and services not related CorgiRO.
Refunds & Recoveries
Item refunds/recoveries will be limited to:
Items lost as a result of roll-backs and/or server-crashes. For these items to be refunded, a Screen Shot is required.
Items lost or performing in ways not intended as a result of bugs in item/NPC scripts.
We apologize, but due to our workload, please understand that exceptions cannot be made for the following!:
Purchased items that do not appear as advertised. Remember, for [Cash Shop] costumes, players can use the 'Costume Preview Service' before making a purchase!
Items accidentally purchased from the [Cash Shop], given the difficulty of determining the rationale behind such purchases.
Items that are accidentally dropped, sold, mailed, refined/broken or traded.
Any and all references to illegal activity that violates local, state, national or international laws or regulations may be reported to the proper authorities.
